“Housing Ourselves” - conference on community led design and co-housing

Co-operative housing Ireland and its member, Cloughjordan Co-housing, will participate in a conference bringing together people with an interest or involvement in co-operative housing, co-living projects, community land trusts, community development, planning, green building and social finance.

Co-operative Housing Ireland publishes annual report for 2016

More than 70 representatives from the eleven member socities of Co-operative Housing Ireland attended an Annual General Meeting in Cork to hear the association's results for the year 2016.  The report highlights successes that include the delivery 191 new homes across the country and the creation of a new co-operative for the Connacht region.

Co-operative Housing Ireland, the national federation for the co-operative housing movement, is seeking to appoint new members to its Board.Since 1973, Co-operative Housing Ireland has supported the provision of more than 5500 homes across Ireland and continues to manage over 2200 homes through a network of local co-operatives.We are actively developing new housing across Ireland, as well as serving as one of the leading representative bodies for the co-operative movement.As a co-operative, our Board is distinctive among Approved Housing Bodies in having majority tenant representation, supplemented by external expertise. The Board delegates day-today management to a Chief Executive and a team of more than 70 staff.The Board is seeking expressions of interest from talented individuals with backgrounds in governance, finance, housing delivery, childcare, and related fields. Ideally, candidates will have previous voluntary board experience.
