‘Coop Conversations’ features CHI Member

May 3, 2021

We are delighted to have Member Emma Liebherr featured on Co-operative Housing International’s podcast, ‘Coop Conversations’ today. Emma and her family recently moved into a CHI home in Carlow, which is part of our South Leinster Co-operative. Emma spoke to Julie La Palme of Co-operative Housing International about family life in her new place.

Emma’s new home is a three-bed semi-detached house in Carlow town, within walking distance of shops, schools, the park, and the GAA club which has exercise facilities. Staying in Carlow was a priority for Emma and her partner, as its where both their families are from.

Speaking about the move, Emma says, “there’s a great sense of community feel here. Our daughter has other children to play with and there’s lots of kids from her school here. It’s a safe place to play, with a nice green area for her to run around on. The sense of security here is great for us, as we will not have to move again – it’s our forever home. It’s also a walking distance from our child’s school.”

Cooperative Housing International is one of the eight sectoral organisations of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA). They promote cooperative housing as an economic and social solution to the problem of providing shelter.
