● 7,000+ total homes now owned and managed, up from 5,791 in 2024

● 94.9% occupancy rate (as of 31 December 2025)

● €382.35 million loan funding drawn down in 2025 for developments

● 17,900+ people now living in Co-operative Housing Ireland homes – a 1,900+ increase over 2024 (+11.9%)

Our Strategy 2023-2027

Co-operative Housing Ireland’s work in 2025 was guided by its five strategic goals for the period 2023 to 2027. Below describes progress made against each goal during 2025.

Goal 1: Growing Co-operative Housing

• Record delivery of 918 new social rental homes in 2025, the highest annual level of delivery achieved by the organisation to date, bringing total homes owned and managed to 6,707.

• Delivery was national in scope, with 652 homes delivered in Leinster, 233 in Munster, and 33 in Connacht. 878 lettings completed.

• Partnered with Cheeverstown House, a care and support organisation, to deliver four new supportive living homes in Kildare.

Goal 2: Building Sustainable Co-operative Communities

• Delivered 144 community engagements across 49 communities nationwide.

• Completed 61 home retrofits under the Improving Warmth and Wellbeing programme, part of €2.7m invested in capital works.

• Launched the Safer Neighbourhoods Team and introduced the Community Champion Award.

Goal 3: Developing Co-operative Leadership

• 760 Member Tenants participated in the annual survey.

• Four new Education Scholarships awarded in 2025.

• 11 Member Tenants participated in the Inner City Enterprise start-your-own business programme.

Goal 4: Raising Our Capacity

• New offices opened in Blanchardstown, Dublin, and Ballincollig, Cork.

• First statutory Gender Pay Gap Report published.

• 120 colleagues employed at year end.

Goal 5: Leading the Co-operative Movement

• Co-hosted 5th International Social Housing Festival, Dublin, June 2025, with over 2,000 delegates.

• Commitment to develop an ESG Strategy 2026-2030.

• Advocacy on co-operative legislation and government housing policy, Delivering Homes, Building Communities 2025-2030
