Co-operative Housing in Focus: Highlights from ISHF 2025

I give a lot of my time to the community centre and majorettes. My heart is with the majorettes. I’m in the community centre tonight until 10 pm with them. My sister, Caroline, has been doing it since she was about three or four. She used to bring me with her, she kind of reared me, she’d bring me with her everywhere she’d go I’d follow behind.

We were in our other home for 14 years. The landlady was an elderly lady, so there was a chance she could sell the house. She had signed a contract for five years with the council and it had been three and half years at the point we were offered the CHI home.

I’m so looking forward to Christmas in the new home. Halloween too. We didn’t go trick or treating but this year there are loads of houses so my daughter is going trick or treating for the first time this year in the estate. My life revolves around my little girl.

We moved in here in January after we got the keys. The team at CHI were really helpful. The key handover and so on went smoothly and it was a very easy process overall.

It’s really important to me to know that I have a team and a manager who will support me. Everyone on the team is different but we work together and learn from each other.
